Cancer is a word that some people can’t even say aloud without feeling triggered. No wonder we’re terrified--this word is loaded. But it’s just a word, people!
So can we normalize saying this word and check ourselves and our reactions? Because that’s what’s really at stake here. As a society we are running from death and we associate cancer with death. But that’s not the whole story. No one wants cancer and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. But when you join the club that no one wants to be part of, the psychic weight of even the word feels unnecessary.
Practice: say the word CANCER…what comes up? Go there. Do that work.
